DJ Biography / Info

Monty Glen started mixing drum & bass on vinyl as a teenager After honing his skills as a bedroom and private party DJ he started playing at pubs, underground raves and was then noticed and given a slot at the legendary, but now tragically closed down, Brunel Rooms in Swindon.

At 19, Monty Glen moved to Edinburgh to study. The decks and vinyl stayed at home to be replaced by a guitar and a new musical direction which lead to the writing of original material and performing live as a solo singer songwriter.

After 5 years in Edinburgh, Monty Glen sought new horizons and spent the following 10 years living in Bangkok, Madrid, Mexico City and Berlin.

In Bangkok, he founded an arts collective for hosting events and providing a platform local independent artists and musicians. In Mexico Monty Glen formed and fronted the band Monty and The Caves (named by on of his students) which, despite their short existence, played some of Mexico City’s most famous venues. Monty Glen was also the founder of the Open Mic Acoustic Sessions at the Black Horse and was host to acts such as William Poyer and Jenny from Jenny and The Mexicats.

After 4 years in Mexico, Monty Glen relocated to Berlin and was heavily influenced by the House and Techno scene. He soon started producing his own electronic music and collaborated on tracks with producers such as @Roderic and @Alejandro Molinari.

Monty Glen is now back in the UK with upcoming shows already booked in for 2026.

His DJ sets are an eclectic and creativity curated selection of music from all over the world. It’s all about the music and the music is good. If you don’t want to dance when he’s playing, you should probably seek help.
